Laurie,
We miss seeing you in Sioux Falls! Please come again; it would be such a treat. Several new venues; the little city is really changing. I think of you every night lately (no kidding) when I'm sitting outside as the fireflies are abundant this year. I lost my cassette that included the song about fireflies and I really miss it. Miss you too. Please hurry back to Sioux Falls!

Laurie,

You probably don't remember me, but I lived with Dave Novak on South Street back in the 1980's. I currently live in Arizona and listen to KZUM on the internet from time to time. And this morning (July 3rd) I heard your interview on what I believe was your daughter's show.

You sound a beautiful as ever.

God Bless,
Bill

Saw you years ago at the UU Dome in Tampa with Karen Mall. Sweet. Saw you in Memphis a few weeks ago at Folk Alliance '08. I just bought The Trumpet Vine. Delicious! I just had my 66th birthday party where Donna and Kelly (Still On the Hill) honored me with a great concert. Thank you Laurie for being you. I find you very inspirational.
God Bless You, always. joseph

First heard you live in Little Rock AR circa 2003; dissappointed no new albums; I have both old ones.
Listening to "The Child" struggling for hope in my own life, mankind. Won't you write a song to help me understand the humanity that coould cut a person's head off with a knife or people who can dance in the street for joy after the murder of 8 students?

Hi Laurie
I enjoy your music so much such a pity I only met you at the end of your trip in Denmark. I will soon be releasing my album so you can't count on the fact that one of the cd's are coming your way. I plan to go to the states in the fall. Now I'm just considering where to buy my ticket to. I think it will be NY. But I think I might stop by you in Nashville.
Sincerely Annemarie

Yes, there are photos on my myspace page, in photo albums labeled "DENMARK" and "CHRISTIANIA" - Christiania is a 36 year old hippie settlement in Copenhagen. A very interesting man named Dirk gave me a 3 hour tour. He has lived there for over 30 years. Thanks for asking!
Blessings,

Hey Laurie, I love your music. All of your songs are incredibly beautiful. I am always moved, whether it is to laugh or cry or ponder. You are a fantastic songwriter with a wonderful voice. I second Sherry's call for chords to Lightning Bugs. I'd love to be able to play that one for my children on camping trips during the summer. Keep making great music!

Hi Laurie! my friend Andy just told me about you and said he's transfixed and no wonder! you have a wonderfully compelling voice that resonates with warmth, kindness and beauty - i'm really surprised you haven't been snatched up by some major label - or that the labels aren't fighting over you - maybe you are being protected so you are free tomake your own path. i'm so loving 'my heaven' (mary poppins was my favorite back when!). and i love the way you've done a whole tribute to kate wolf. anyhoos, i wish you the best and hope to see you out on the road someday. nancy k

Dear Laurie,

Thanks for visiting me with Gloria Holloway today at my bedside in the Tampa VA Hospital.
Sorry the VA would not allow you to sing and play your guitar for me - rules! We had a nice chat, didn't we? Wish I had your takent to write a song about barefoot Alder in her formal with her shoes in her hand on our first date.

Thanks for giving me your Child Behind My Eyes CD. I am enjoying listening on my laptop. Hope to catch you live sometime soon!

My best to you,

April 13, 2007

Hey Laurie, I can remember the early days when you were first learning to play and sing. I thought of you as my little sister. I'm talking 1976 or 1977? This last week I was coming home from a tour on the east coast and I put the Trumpet Vine cd in and I was so taken by it. I'm so impressed with the quality and feel. You've again come into my heart much like a little sister. You have come a long way since those early days and your truly in a class of your own. Thanks for not quitting and most of all thanks for being yourself and maintaining the free spirit that so many of us wish we had. God bless. Jim

Just got home from the Meadowlark show in Lincoln, and what a great Christmas present for us. I'm so glad you come here now and then to visit and play a bit. Your music makes me smile, shed a tear, and laugh a little, too. Thank you so much. And, yes, this "old lady" likes Charlie, too! Love you both. Oh, and you are right, Daniel is wonderful. Have a great new year.

Hey girl - it's been a long long time. Jerry and I will celebrate 19 years of marriage in 2007 and still clearly hear the notes you sang for us! So very glad to see you are doing well. Excellent web site! You were definitely on your way in junior high, I remember you humming and singing all the time, with such a lovely voice.
Sure hope to see you in Austin, TX someday.

October 27, 2006

Hey, beauuuuutiful website and gorgeous voice tracks!!! I just got back from Nashville (well, Franklin and Nashville) from recording at Tom T. Hall's studio with a band called Tomahawk----it was GREAT. Then, on our night on the town, went by all the bars on Broadway, noticed that Wolfy's is "Tippy's" now??? and saw my old roommate playing bass with someone other than br549----then noticed today when I went surfing on the br549 site that he is their new bass player! Dang, this is too much, too wonderful, you guys are doing great!

Donna Connely

October 6, 2006

I watched you on channel 13 tonight. I had my 13 yr. old son, Beau, watch also. I told him about you again-smile. I was sitting on the floor of Dietze Music store in Lincoln holding my baby Beau. You came in, smiled, and gave me one of your albums-"we were all babies" and said Beau reminded you of your babies. My Mom loves your album also. I recently purchased an electric bass guitar for Beau. He loves it. He also plays the trumpet and Baritone at school. We have an original song called "Cowboy for President" I hope Beau will make it famous someday. But I really just wanted to say HI!!

I heard your song My Heaven and think it paints a beautiful picture of heaven in my mind. What a wonderful song! I lost a very dear person (my mother) to me last year. For therapy, I wrote a poem about my mother's last day on earth. Perhaps you would like to write music to go with my poem. It's called "I'll See You In the Morning Light. Just a thought...I have a small business designing bookkeeping software for small business so I know nothing about the music industry but I thought I would contact you anyway. Thanks for listening.

Hi Laurie - As we told you, Helene and I (I'm the guy in the yarmulke, she's the tiny one with the hat) were blown away by your songs at Folk Alliance. Out of the 20-some traded CDs we came home with, your 8-song sampler is the only one in heavy rotation in both cars. Your songs and delivery are from someplace very unique and powerful.

We've both begun singing "Lightning Bugs" with our Sunday school classes. Even that tune has such a cool perspective... a song about how it feels to be in a jar? Too much!

Seriously, we're both big fans. You deserve much success and happiness. To that end, I just bought 2 of your CDs from CDBaby. Best of luck and keep in touch.

January 10, 2006

Hi Laurie!
Your concert w. John Christian at Meadowlark Coffee next to Open Harvest was, as always, just wonderful and so relaxing! I really enjoyed myself and wished Carol hadn't needed to work. Always love to come to your performances for so many reasons. I thought it was really kind of you to do a benefit for the Rape Spouse Abuse Center. I hope a generous helping donation was made as a result.
I got your compliation and double Purple moon CDs at the concert, in part bc Carol couldn't be there. We love the CDs (surprise) :) We have heard Dar's own performance 'When I was a Boy' and quite frankly, we prefer your performance as odd as that may seem. I find your music to be spiritual and healing.
The above characterizations are in part why I checked out your website. A good friend is in the hospital and I was hoping I could arrange to have your CDs sent their way.
Thank you so much for your work! We appreciate your influence.

Hey, the place looks pretty snazzy! I don't know if you noticed it but it was getting kinda dowdy...there was a film on the windows and dead flies on the sills. But now, mymymy, it's all fresh and...and...artsy!

Now, we need to Work on getting you some different wheels...you gotta image to maintain don'tjano? I know where you can find this cherry '69 microbus and there's this stoner in LA that could give it just what it needs to make it stand out...parked or moving, people would know you had arrived!

Well, we're lookin' for you to hit town and I'll be guarding the Latte machine soas they won't be firing it up during any of your songs...them low-bred knuckleheads have no culture, I tell you.
